Hoffman Brown Company (HBC) is dedicated to helping our community.  HBC’s Team Members receive one paid day off to volunteer at any local non-for-profit charity.  We are happy to share some of our volunteer days with you.

Meet Each Need with Dignity “MEND”2

Meet Each Need with Dignity “MEND”

Meet Each Need with Dignity “MEND” is a place where the homeless and people in need go to take showers, get a hot meal, get clothes and medical help.  We volunteered in the kitchen and the warehouse and had a great time helping our friends at MEND.

New Friends Homeless Center

New Friends Homeless Center is independently operated and funded by local volunteers and sponsors.  They continue to be successful in feeding and clothing those in need.  HBC spent time filling Christmas stockings with necessities such as gloves, socks and Starbucks gift cards and sweets.  These were given out at a luncheon to celebrate the holidays.

PALS

The LAPD Devonshire Policy Activity League Supporters, better known as “PALS” is a highly effective at deterring gangs and preventing crime by implementing after school and weekend enrichment programs for at-risk youth.  HBC spent the day packing clothes, school supplies, toys and many items to distribute to kids and teens.

Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging:  The Jewish Home for the Aging serves thousands of seniors every year.  Our HBC Team visited the San Fernando Valley campus and quickly made friends and helped during their annual fire drill.

Family Rescue Center

Family Rescue Center:  Located in Canoga Park, CA, they serve individuals and families by providing food, clothing, medical and vocational training assistance.  Their ultimate goal is to sustain people in desperate circumstances.  Our HBC team & our partner carrier Travelers Insurance brought the Rescue Center 1000 See’s Candies Lollipops.  You will see in our photo, many boxes of lollipops.

We witnessed a very special presentation.  This particular house was built by Habitat for Humanity in only 6 weeks.  It was officially given to the selected family on the day we were there. The ceremony included a house blessing prayer and a ribbon cutting.   This was a very moving and meaningful experience, with ABC News taping the event.
