These resolutions can help you feel your best while lowering your health insurance costs!

If you didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions yet, don’t worry, there is still plenty of time to start thinking of what changes you want to make. To help you start feeling your best this year, keep these healthy New Year’s Resolutions in mind.

  1. Quit smoking – smoking can fast track any disease that you may already have, including cancer and heart disease. Lighting up can also reduce the blood flow to your kidneys and interfere with certain medications, which will reduce their effectiveness.
  2. Stand up more often – sitting for more than 8 hours a day has been linked with many chronic conditions, including kidney disease, even if you are otherwise physically active. While you may not be able to change your working conditions to stand more, find times that you can. Stand up when you talk on the phone or make the trip to the further restroom.
  3. Get some sleep – getting enough sleep at night is one of the best ways to start feeling, and looking, much better each day. Not getting enough sleep can cause kidney disease, obesity, and many other health issues.
  4. Get organized – finding a way to get organized at the beginning of the year will help to lower your stress throughout the whole year. Invest in a daily planner or use a whiteboard calendar to help you stay organized in every aspect of your life.

As an added bonus, resolving to get healthy can help you save money on your health insurance policy.
