Mark your calendar with these open enrollment dates coming up in October and November.

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, it’s become important for all Americans to mark certain healthcare-related dates on their calendars. Whether you’re an individual hoping to buy or change coverage during open enrollment or a senior waiting until your next Medicare open enrollment, you likely have dates you’re anticipating this fall.

So you can be prepared for the upcoming deadlines, here is a quick look at the important open enrollment dates you should mark on your calendar for October and November.

Seniors – October

Every year, seniors have the chance to make changes to the prescription drug plan they’re carrying. This year, that opportunity comes along on October 15th, when open enrollment for Medicare D begins. During this time, you can drop your Prescription Drug coverage, switch to another plan, or join a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. Mark your calendar, because this open enrollment period ends December 7th.

Individuals – November

Whether you need to secure an individual healthcare plan or change to a different plan or insurance carrier, you will want to have November 1st on your calendar, this marks the first day of the open enrollment period, during which individuals can purchase or change coverage. This upcoming open enrollment period ends on January 31st, 2016.
